Providing hope for an end to homelessness
Durham Winter Night Shelter is an initiative to see God end the cycle of homelessness and addiction in Durham City by providing the most vulnerable people with a safe bed and access to vital services.
Night Shelter
The Durham Winter Night Shelter operates a weekend night shelter over the winter months. We are open to all who find themselves sleeping rough and are homeless in and around Durham. We partner with local agencies, churches, charities and businesses to provide this service. For more information see our vision and our activities.
Why the Weekend?
We are extremely supportive of our local authority and all the work they do to try to eradicate homelessness in County Durham. We want to help support their work by providing a bridge service to rough sleepers at the weekend.
By housing people at the weekend, we hope they will have a faster journey from the street into permanent accommodation.
